Description
In this lesson you will learn the basics of how to create your own writing piece for this class. After reviewing some short stories in our Google Classroom, as well as referring to some short stories you have read in the past, start to take notice of the literary devices that are important for making a good, or even great story! Storytelling is one of the oldest and most influential kinds of communication, dating back to ancient civilizations. Stories that have been told for generations have taught us many things from the history and culture of the people who have lived before us. In the creative writing project that we will soon be working on, we will have the chance to use our imagination to create our own characters and setting. Choosing a narrative perspective is also important. Will you choose to write in first person, second person, or third person? What will be your main idea? What will be your theme? As you go through this lesson, start to brainstorm some ideas about your characters, where they live, and what is happening in their lives. Your creative writing can be fictional (fantasy, historical fiction, mystery, horror) or maybe even non-fiction (maybe an autobiographical short story). Let's get creative!
