Students use a recitation of the poem "I'm Not the Indian You Had In Mind" by Thomas King to explore the concept of cultural stereotypes and cultural appropriation. Students view the poem, consider the images and ideas Thomas King discusses in the text. Students then explore a video about Canadian Treaty process which discusses the idea that ALL Canadians are treaty individuals. Students explore the idea of Aboriginal, Indigenous and Indian before creating their own response using Flipgrid.
