On Coming to America - Small Moments, Big Meanings is an invitation to students across the nation to interview, document, and share the story of an immigrant or refugee. This hyperdoc introduces students to the differences between an “immigrant” and a “refugee,” provides primary source interviews (videos) with recent refugees, includes guidelines for stepping into the role of oral historians by conducting an interview - and encourages students to publish their Small Moments, Big Meanings projects to an authentic audience via several online options.
